Jenny Dances Untied on her Father’s Aircraft in Flight

Jenny Forsythe, 35 years old from USA, astounded the audience of Al Ain Aerobatic Show by standing untied on top of her father’s aircraft while he was flying and performing some acrobatic moves. Jenny danced on top of the aircraft and with fireworks she offered a spectacular evening show. She and her father are the only team in the world that flies a Quick Silver single-seat aircraft and throws fireworks during flight.
Jenny’s father, Bob Essell, is a well-known pilot with a long history of flying. This sport is actually a family tradition for him, as he learned flying from his father who learned it from his father too. Bob has a total of 8000 flying hours, and he has flown with a partner for 17 years, while his daughter Jenny joined his displays 3 years ago. Bob said to the Show Daily that he loves to fly, and spends all his time either flying with his daughter or teaching this sport to young beginners.


SPECTACULAR DISPLAYS GO ON AT AL AIN 2006

The activities of ‘Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2006’ continued with a massive attendance. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Show, attended the activities of the 2nd day, and visited the stands accompanied by His Excellency Major General Pilot Khaled bin Abdullah Mubarak Al Bouaynein, Commander of UAE Air Force and Air Defence. Sheikh Sultan gave instructions to provide all services for participants and visitors in a way that guarantees the success of the Show and highlighting the good image of Al Ain City and the UAE. His Highness then visited the Press Centre and thanked the journalists for their distinguished coverage for the Show. He also talked to representatives of Arab and International newspapers, confirming that everything will be provided to make their assignment easy and successful.
At 12:00 noon displays started with participation of the best pilots and teams from all over the world. Radio control model aircraft of various types opened the show offering eye-catching displays, which were followed by a free fly performance by world champions coming from 32 countries. A wing walking display was also performed for the first time in the UAE by the American pilot Bob Essell and his daughter Jenny Forsythe who surprised spectators with stunning acrobatic moves on top of her father’s aircraft. Many other spectacular displays for different solo pilots and teams were on the schedule of the 2nd day, which ended with the dazzling night shows, the new feature in the Show this year.
Spectators highly admired and applauded for the amazing displays. They left their seats with a big smile, not forgetting to take photos there, and willing to come again on the next days. The Higher Organizing Committee made every effort to provide all requirements of spectators, and the committee members were very pleased to answer all their questions, which would definitely contribute to the great success of Al Ain Aerobatic Show.

Correction:  While a few of these excerpts state that we use a single-seat Quicksilver, we actually use a two-seat.
