Together, Bob Essell and Jenny Forsythe stand out in the world of wingwalking as the only team using a monoplane, the only team offering evening wingwalking with lights and pyrotechnics, and the only father & daughter duo.  Jenny is the 4th generation of Essells to take to the skies:  her great-grandfather used to parachute from hot air balloons for audiences!

Bob Essell - Pilot
    Bob was taught to fly by his father in the mid 1960s.  He began doing airshows in the early 1980s, at first doing flight demonstrations, then moving on to solo aerobatics, and eventually added wingwalking in 1990.  His flying experience & credentials include level 1 unrestricted, solo aerobatics, wing walking, night pyro, a commercial pilot’s license and flight instructor certification.  Additionally, Bob operates Liberty AirSports in Hiram, OH where he offers flight lessons and sells and services light aircraft. With over 25 years of experience in the aviation profession, Bob has assisted people from all walks of life in fulfilling their life-long dreams of flying.
Jenny Forsythe - Wingwalker
    Jenny was adopted as an infant by her wonderful parents, Mary & Dave Forsythe.  Always a curious child, Jenny eventually found her biological relatives in 1997, including her biological father, Bob Essell. It was during her first meeting with Bob that she finally realized where her love of flying came from.  After years of flying with Bob and watching his wingwalking act with Jon Falkner, Jenny decided it was time to become more involved in the airshow business.  Upon Jon’s retirement in late 2003, Jenny became the official team wingwalker.  In 2005, when Jenny was approached by Walt Pierce to become part of his team, she jumped at the opportunity - being a wingwalker to the core, the privilege of becoming the first wingwalker to perform professionally on both a monoplane and a biplane wasn't something she could pass up.  Jenny enjoys inspiring youth at airshows, showing them that even kids who experience(d) low self-esteem can grow up to do extraordinary things.

Bonnie Bertel - Crew Chief
    Bonnie Bertel, Bob’s wife, has been involved in the flying industry since 1982.  Bonnie is the team’s crew chief.  She plays an integral role in all facets of the airshow business and she has even taken a ride uptop!
